Markus Wagner, born in Vienna, has worked in the sector of mobile &
internet communication from the outset of his career.
From 1997-2000
he studied telecommunication technologies and systems in Salzburg,
Markus gathered important experience in the R&D department of
max.mobil/T-Mobile Austria (1997-2001) where he acquired extensive
knowledge of mobile and internet services, SMS, WAP, GPRS, and UMTS.
In 2000 he founded wap.at Internetservices GmbH (later renamed to
Xidris GmbH).
Mr. Wagner took over the management of wap.at in 2001, which was soon
thereafter renamed into Xidris mobile communications. He was
Managing Director of Xidris from 2001 to 2004. Establishing strong
partnerships with leading national media houses (ORF, Krone, News,
etc.) and national mobile operators, Xidris soon became one of
Europe's leading providers of mobile communication services.
Particularly in providing network-independent Premium Service numbers,
Xidris is considered a pioneer and was, until its merger into 3united, an
undisputed market leader.
Besides his work for 3united AG (Executive Board Member for Product
Management, Product Development & Media Relations), Mr. Wagner was
lecturer for 'data broadcast and mobile communications' at the
polytechnic university of Salzburg since 2001 where he supervised more
than a dozen master's theses.
3united AG was sold to the US company VeriSign Inc. in early 2006

Since then, Markus Wagner (Vice President Product Innovations &
Business Development) lives in Vienna and New York and works with US
media companies such as NBC, CBS, FOX, ClearChannel to launch
interactive and content services.
Now living in Austria and the United States, Mr. Wagner and the i5 team
invest in early stage companies and business ideas, and support them in
becoming global players.
