Thomas Stockinger is the 3D Animator at Avaloop.
He studied multimedia art at the University of Applied Science, in
Salzburg, with specialization on 3D Animation. He has been gaining
knowledge about animation since high school when he attended
traditional animation courses. He has worked in hand drawn,
stop motion, cell, and computer animation.
Since 2000 he has been occasionally visualizing music with animated
clips in clubs. For his diploma thesis he developed a motioncapture
driven interface for music visualization, using an ARTracker and a
game engine to translate the movements of a dancer into animated
graphics in realtime.
From 2005 to 2006 Thomas Stockinger was working with a dancer on
an interactive performance tool for a multimedial installation in the
framework of the Sommerszene Salzburg.
